My first jewellery collection

Hi there, my friends,

You have found us! Thank you for visiting our blog!

Most recently, I have taken on the hobby of jewellery making. My mini collection consists of chic but affordable pieces for the fashion conscious. My beads and parts are sourced from the U.S., Hong Kong and the Philippines.

My friend and I are also in the process of launching an e-shop presenting glass jewellery from our French designer friend, Ms. Ponsar. A second collection by our Bangkok-based designer will also be out soon.

The 3rd to 6th pics are my work. The applique necklace is the most difficult to make - it took me hours for I had to weave the shimmering silver-green ribbon into the lace piece! I love it, what do you think?

The first two pics are the work of Ms. Ponsar, she specializes in "stained glass" accessories. For her full collection, please click on this link.

If you would like to order any of these pieces or enquire about pricing, please email lanleyshop@yahoo.com (we will respond to you via our shop's email address). If the item is in stock, it will only take us 2-7 days (no matter where you are located). For custom order, please allow two weeks. Our e-shop's website will be up soon. I will keep you posted...

Do drop by again if you have some time? You are most welcome to share on this blog what you are doing, what excites you and so on, OK?

Super Ma Ma's Bears

My friend's mom who is in her 70's showed me a collection of her hand-made bears when I went to her house last Friday. I was in awe - each one painstakingly put together, using real fur and mohair for most. What I am most impressed with though is the philosophy she adopts for her bears... She told me that each one is of a different shape and size and not one is MADE PERFECT. "Animals are just like humans, they are not perfect, no?" she said with a big smile!

Well said, well said! You go, Ma Ma!

P.S. Here are my favs from Super Ma Ma's collection, could you help these lovely bears find a home?

More about the Mat...

I promise to share the story, so here you go!

This mat was handmade by an elderly Malaysian lady using recycled fabric. It's not easy to do as each colour fabric has to be folded neatly to get the uniform look that you see in this picture.

What I can think of for this mat? Three things!

(1) Wouldn't it be nice if we help senior citizens like her enrich the "silver" phase of their lives by helping them stay active and connected to the community? There must be things that they have been doing for years and do really well. In the case of this lady, her needlework is great! So dear friends, tell me if you will be interested to own one of these - adding some colours to your door entrance, study, etc. She will be so thrilled to learn that people appreciate her work!

(2) Another good thing about this mat is that it is made out of RECYCLED fabric, a very "GREEN" move indeed and a great response to the "sustainable development" cause.

(3) Does any of your elderly relatives or friends do great things like this? Let us know, we will help promote and celebrate what he/she does!

Well, what else can you think of?

What I can think of - for a Mat!

Hi, are you curious about my profile picture? Wanna know what that multi-colour image is?

It's actually a door mat made with RECYCLED FABRIC - BY HAND! Have you seen anything quite like this before? It's beautiful, isn't it?

There is a story behind this door mat, I will tell you tomorrow... Now tell me if you wanna own one of these?
